POSITION: The Salvation Army Social Services Chaplain for Programs (SS Chaplain)

STATUS: Non-Exempt / Full time - hourly
PAY: $21.64/hr

Bachelor's degree or certificate from an accredited Bible-based Christian institution in theology, Bible, Christian studies, pastoral counseling, evangelism, Christian ministry, biblical or theological studies, religion, or social services/social ministry; or three years of experience in chaplaincy, pastoral care, Christian ministry, or social services within a Bible-based framework. Experience with local Christian faith-based Hawaii resources is preferred. Training or service as a Salvation Army officer, soldier, employee, chaplain, or adherent is a plus. Must have a clean driving record and complete the Decision Driving Safety Test. Ability to do fieldwork in various settings is required. Experience in disaster recovery and computer proficiency are preferred. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
The SS Chaplain provides spiritual care and resources to clients, families, staff, and volunteers through Bible studies, worship, prayer, life skills classes, counseling, and community faith collaborations. The role involves connecting clients with Salvation Army or other places of worship, coordinating religious programming with various units, and ensuring adherence to policies and mission standards.
