Your Opportunity

The Stantec Program Management/Construction Management team seeks an Electrical Inspector for a project in Honolulu, HI. This role involves providing daily visual inspection reports on electrical construction activities.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Visually inspect all electrical activities daily to ensure installation procedures align with design specifications, manufacturer procedures, and California code requirements.
  2. Identify non-conformance items in daily reports and communicate appropriately.
  3. Prepare clear daily inspection reports in Word and PDF formats.
  4. Develop relationships with general contractor personnel to support an efficient and safe work site.
  5. Coordinate with the on-site Construction Manager to confirm installation procedures and non-conformance items.
  6. Communicate installation issues to management.
  7. Provide updates on installation procedures, crew sizes, equipment, and ongoing activities to senior management.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Protection & Controls, Outages, and Lock Out Tag Out Procedures.
  • Experience in project testing, commissioning, and start-up activities is a plus.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in electrical disciplines within high voltage substations, including installation supervision.
  • Journeyman Electrician and/or Electrical Construction Technologist certification.
  • At least 2 years' experience as an Electrical Inspector.
  • Electrical Inspector Certification is advantageous.
  • First Aid/CPR Certifications are advantageous.
  • Energy Isolation Certification is advantageous.
  • Excavation and Trenching Safety Certification is advantageous.
  • Ability to travel as required.

This position involves both field and office work. Field work may expose you to weather conditions. Availability to travel for out-of-town projects is required.

Additional Information

  • Salary Range: $37.00 - $53.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
  • Position may be bonus eligible.
