Salary Information: Minimum $1911 per credit hour

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary

Other Conditions: Fall 2025, part-time, for lecturer candidate pool, non-tenurial, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and actual staffing requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach assigned courses in the discipline.
  2. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  3. Provide instruction and guidance to meet student learning objectives, prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  4. Work under supervision of discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
  5. Student and peer evaluations and self-assessment of teaching effectiveness are required.
  6. Commitment to community college principles and philosophy is essential.
  7. Must be available for evening and weekend teaching assignments, teaching on campus, off-campus at military bases, secondary education sites (high schools), and/or via distance learning for courses taught online. This is not a remote position. Teaching on military bases requires Department of Defense security clearance. Teaching Early College courses for DOE schools may require background checks.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Degree in the subject area, or related field. If qualified applicants are not available, candidates not meeting minimum qualifications may be considered on an exception basis.
  2. Master's degree in Economics.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Teaching experience at the community college level.
  • Ability to work with community college students.
  • Relevant work experience related to the course.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Familiarity with competency-based instruction and behavioral objectives.
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations.
  • Experience with educational technology, including LMS, CRM, Early Alert, and presentation software.
  • Willingness to adapt to new technology platforms.
