About the Role

The Accountant plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial data by supporting critical accounting functions such as journal entries, account reconciliations, data analysis, and monthly reporting. This position collaborates closely with both accounting an operations teams to maintain accurate and up-to-date records and deliver actionable financial insights to support business decision making.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare and record journals related to depreciation, prepaid expenses, inventory, COGS, and standard costs.
  • Create and maintain accurate balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Produce timely and accurate financial and other management reports.
  • Prepare and file general excise tax returns and other regulatory filings as needed.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Support operations teams in understanding operating KPI and their financial impact.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Develop tools and methodologies to improve cost tracking for informed decision making.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end close processes including external audits.
  • Contribute to the preparation and analysis of the annual budget and interim forecasts.
  • Perform other accounting-related duties as needed.
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify problems, collect and analyze data and draw logical conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills are a must.
  • Self-starter with strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic working environment with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to sit and work on a computer for most of the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally.
