Basic Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. Citizen to apply.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered with Selective Service.
  • Primary U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years.
  • Potential requirement to pass a background investigation.
  • Compliance with DHS drug testing policies.
  • Adherence to government ethics standards and conflict of interest statutes.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

GS-11 Level

Requires 1 year of specialized experience including:

  • Recommending storage requirements for seized property including controlled substances, currency, and firearms.
  • Assisting with handling hazardous materials and providing guidance on seized property issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with storage and packaging standards.

GS-12 Level

Requires 1 year of specialized experience including:

  • Managing seized property in compliance with CBP policies.
  • Planning and participating in seized property destruction operations.
  • Providing guidance and testifying in court regarding seized property.

Educational Substitutions

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of graduate education can substitute for experience at GS-11. No substitution is allowed at GS-12.

Additional Qualifications

  • Must meet all qualification and time-in-grade requirements by 05/20/2025.
  • Background checks, polygraph considerations, and residency requirements apply.
  • Firearms proficiency, valid driver's license, and ability to carry a communication device required.
  • Position involves wearing a uniform, potential overtime, travel, and training in Glynco, GA.
