We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to support our customers and join our passionate team of problem solvers.

About the role:

Data Engineers on our Distributed Systems team focus on building data platforms that centralize data access for various users. You'll work on Raft's Data Platform product line, collaborating with operators to identify use cases, onboard datasets, and develop new features. This role involves data engineering expertise and industry-recognized OSS tools used in Data Science environments. You will work with Technical SMEs and government stakeholders to build, configure, and deploy data platforms for mission-critical needs.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience with backend languages such as Java, Go, Python
• Experience with Kafka and Delta Lake
• Educational background in STEM (CS/EE/Math, etc.)
• Knowledge of current trends in Data Engineering, Data Streaming, and Data Search
• Hands-on experience with DoD datasets and transforming them
• Ability to understand broad requirements, break them into tasks, and build POCs to demonstrate feasibility

Highly desirable:

• Experience with Trino and/or DuckDB
• Proven ability to build quick POCs
• Understanding operational trade-offs between COTS products and OSS alternatives
• Knowledge of DoD Datasets

Clearance Requirements:

• Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret clearance

Work Type:

• Onsite at Hickam AFB, HI
• Up to 25% travel may be required

Salary Range:

• $150,000 - $180,000
• Compensation depends on experience, skills, and abilities
