About The Job

We seek a hands-on Dispatch Operations Manager who combines operational expertise with strategic insight. This role involves daily dispatching activities and overseeing overall dispatch operations. You will manage deliveries, identify efficiency improvements, and align dispatch with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead daily dispatch operations for timely and accurate deliveries.
2. Optimize routing, driver performance, and resource allocation using data and analytics.
3. Implement process improvements for cost savings and service quality.
4. Collaborate with operations, customer service, and sales teams.
5. Develop and monitor KPIs to evaluate performance.
6. Evaluate and deploy new dispatch technologies.
7. Mentor and develop dispatch staff, fostering continuous improvement.
8. Manage drivers and dispatch team members, providing feedback.
9. Anticipate disruptions and create contingency plans.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

In This Role, You Will

Driver Management

1. Train and manage drivers, ensuring safety and compliance.
2. Monitor driver performance and address concerns.
3. Support driver satisfaction and retention.

Operations Management

1. Optimize dispatch workflows for efficiency.
2. Ensure regulatory compliance.

Customer Service

1. Coordinate with customer service to ensure satisfaction.
2. Maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.

Strategic Planning

1. Work with senior management on operational strategies.
2. Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities.

Problem Solving

1. Identify and resolve operational issues.
2. Develop contingency plans for disruptions.

Communication

1. Ensure effective communication within the team and departments.
2. Present performance reports to management.

Budget Management

1. Assist in developing and managing the dispatch budget.
2. Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures.

Qualifications And Key Skills

We value diverse experiences and encourage applicants with most of the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years in dispatch or logistics management; island logistics experience preferred.
• Experience in freight forwarding industry preferred.
• Leadership, communication, and team management skills.
• Knowledge of port operations, driver management, DOT regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and logistics software; Truckmate & Sunsara experience a plus.
• Data analysis skills for performance improvement.
• HazMat experience is a plus.
• Strategic thinking and operational efficiency focus.
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking skills.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
• Highly organized and capable of managing multiple tasks under pressure.

Location

This is an in-office role based 50% in Pearl City and 50% in Kapolei, HI.

The salary range is $88,500 - $130,000 plus bonus potential, based on skills and experience.
