JOB TITLE:Safety Coordinator
PAY RATE: Up to $24.23 per hour
JOB OVERVIEW:Work with consultant to develop and implement a foundation-wide safety program, which includes technical support, inspections, trainings, and reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in scheduling of safety inspections, trainings, ergonomic assessments, etc. with PIDF programs and individuals;
- Coordinate with consultant to conduct monthly safety meeting and provide other safety training materials;
- Assist with preparation of material for regular Safety all-staff email blasts;
- Assist in data collection from various PIDF programs relating to safety inspections, vehicle maintenance, vehicle inspections;
- Perform and document safety inspections, noting non-compliantareas/procedures with follow-up as needed;
- Work with consultant to identify and eliminate or reduce hazards and hazardous conditions or equipment;
- Demonstrate the correct use of safety equipment;
- Work with consultant to conduct employee safety training including but not limited to, new employee orientation, observer training, and annual required re-training in accordance with company safety policy/OSHA regulations.
OTHER DUTIES:
Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to
- Ensure programs/departments maintain safety buckets and personal protective equipment and replace expired supplies needed (bloodborne pathogen, first-aid, etc.);
- Assist with any PIDF safety and health related matters as directed;
- Attendance at safety conferences and participation on safety conference calls.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Associate's degree in occupational safety, or related field from a two or four-year college or university required; or equivalent training, education and experience;
- Must be able to use computer, and proficient in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
- Proficient in Microsoft Publisher and/or graphics program such as Canva preferred; photography and videography skills a plus;
- Must have access to a vehicle, have a valid driver's license, a safe and responsible driving record, and current no-fault auto insurance, with at least $100K in bodily injury liability per person and $25K in property damage liability.
Preferred:
- A minimum of one (1) year working knowledge of OSHA regulations and experience implementing safety requirements;
- Experience in safety and/or automotive maintenance.
WORK HOURS:
- 20 hours per week, during the hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. or as otherwise determined by the supervisor;
- Position requires regular and predictable attendance;
- Attendance during evenings or weekends at various times required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Office setting;
- Outdoors (inspecting vehicles, site visits, and training staff);
- Travel to the neighbor islands is required;
- Travel to the continental U.S. may be required.
