Job Description

The Operations Manager serves as a key member of the base leadership team by coordinating and directing the activities of team members involved in safely providing requested services for general aviation aircraft, crews, residents, and guests. This role involves performing duties similar to those of their workgroup, utilizing expert knowledge of company policies and SOPs to deliver efficient and exceptional service at the private aviation terminal (PAT). Flexibility to work nights, holidays, and weekends is required. Tasks may be performed in varying weather and environmental conditions, including near stationary and moving aircraft and ground service equipment.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team to conduct base operations safely and efficiently, ensuring effective communication and adherence to SOPs.
  • Manage the performance of the Airside Experience and Guest Experience Teams, ensuring compliance with policies and correcting deficiencies.
  • Interview, onboard, train, and develop team members, managing schedules and team meetings.
  • Provide on-the-job training and ensure all required airline training is completed.
  • Serve as a resource on guest service matters and handle escalations.
  • Assist with ramp operations to meet service needs, including aircraft handling, fueling, de-icing, and other ground services.
  • Proactively prepare for aircraft arrivals/departures, identify safety concerns, and conduct safety observations.
  • Operate and drive ground service equipment as needed.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance, audits, and reporting.
  • Manage inventory, maintain security, and ensure safe, clean ramp operations.
  • Monitor and maintain fuel inventories and quality control.
  • Enforce operational, safety, and guest service requirements, stopping work if unsafe conditions arise.
  • Follow emergency procedures and security protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records related to activities and staffing, including payroll oversight if applicable.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1-2 years of experience in aviation or cargo operations, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Ability to obtain specialty certifications (e.g., towing, de-icing) as required.
  • Minimum of 18 years old, able to pass background checks, drug tests, and obtain airport security badge.
  • Excellent vision, coordination, and ability to pass a color vision test.
  • Legal authorization to work and valid driver's license; certain roles may require a CDL.

Pay range: $65,000 - $82,000 annually, based on various factors.
