Job Summary

We invite applications for an Assistant Professor to support the interdisciplinary Arts and Markets program. Responsibilities include overseeing the growth and administration of the degree, advising majors, curriculum development, and teaching courses, including capstones. Experience in directing instrumental musical ensembles is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Doctorate in music, arts management, or related field OR Master's in music with equivalent professional experience.
• Successful college teaching record.
• Commitment to inclusivity and diversity.
• Experience in instrumental music ensemble teaching/directing.

Desired Qualifications

• Arts management experience in educational, business, nonprofit, or government sectors.
• Experience in recruitment and fundraising.
• Administrative experience at department or college level.
• Networking skills with community organizations.
• Excellent communication skills.

Other Requirements

• Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship or relocation support.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and insurance.
• Availability for work during breaks if needed.
• Background checks and compliance with policies.
• Ability to teach during days, evenings, weekends, and at multiple locations on Oahu.
• Strong time and stress management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching (60%)

• Teach courses in Arts & Markets program.
• Lead instrumental music ensembles.
• Assist in developing program goals and objectives.
• Provide advising and related duties.
