PAY RANGE: $60,000 - $66,000 annually

HOURS/AVAILABILITY: Monday - Friday; weekends and holidays as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY:

In alignment with the mission and vision of the YMCA of Honolulu, the Project Director collaborates closely with YMCA team members under the leadership of the Program Executive Director of Teens & Adults. This role manages the development and execution of our 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC), ensuring the delivery of high-quality afterschool and summer programs. The Director fosters a positive team culture, drives program growth, manages reports and expenses, and builds partnerships with educational and community organizations, all while promoting the YMCA's values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES:

  1. Provide strategic leadership for youth and teen programs, including afterschool and summer initiatives across multiple schools.
  2. Manage program funding and grants, ensuring compliance with YMCA, 21st CCLC, and Youth Development standards.
  3. Collaborate with leadership to enhance program quality and strategic growth.
  4. Build and maintain community partnerships to increase program impact.
  5. Oversee staff and volunteer recruitment, training, and development.
  6. Monitor and evaluate programs for effectiveness and safety.
  7. Develop and manage budgets, ensuring timely reporting.
  8. Support fundraising and grant efforts to sustain and expand programs.
  9. Ensure safety protocols and staff certifications are maintained.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse communities.
  • Experience managing federally funded programs, including reporting and expenditures.
  • 4+ years in program development, management, or operations.
  • 3+ years supervising staff or volunteers.
  • 2+ years working with youth from Kindergarten to College.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel between locations.
  • Embody YMCA's mission and core values.

Education & Training:

  • College degree in Social Services, Public Health, Education, or related field; or 4 years of equivalent work experience. Graduate degree preferred.
  • First Aid, CPR, AED certifications within 3 months of hire.
  • Bus Driver's certification within 6 months of hire, including a valid driver's license and clean traffic record.
  • Compliance with ADA.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Windows XP, Canva.
  • Completion of YMCA trainings post-hire.
