Salary: $5,918 to $7,198 per month (SR-24, Step C to i)

The Department of Human Resources Development-State Recruiting Office will refer all inquiries regarding this recruitment to the DOT Personnel Office.The Assistant Airport Superintendent (AAS) V assists in managing all areas of airport district functions including serving as regular relief and representative of the Airport Superintendent in dealing with federal, state and county agencies, airport tenants, airport staff, travelers and others; and performs other duties as required.To qualify, applicants must meet ALL of the following requirements:
Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited four (4) year college or university.
Specialized Experience: Three and one-half (3-1/2) years of progressively responsible professional experience of the nature and scope which provided knowledge in airport operations and maintenance functions and knowledge and improvement of skills in the supervision of others.
Such experience must have provided substantive knowledge of the concepts, organization, functions, methods and procedures of the air transportation facilities program. In addition, the work experience must have demonstrated the ability to independently carry outadministrative professional assignments of progressive complexity consistent with the class level and to plan, organize, staff, direct and control the work of others.
Non-Qualifying Experience: Clerical, laboring and trades work experience or supervision of clerical, laboring and trades operations per se, although the work may have been concerned with or located at the air transportation facilities program, is not qualifying.
Substitutions Allowed: Relevant substitutions, as described in the Minimum Qualification Requirements, will apply.
Driver's License: For certain positions, applicants must possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Clearance - Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the SIDAclearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.The cost for the records check will be the applicant's responsibility.
