Job Description

As the Area Accounting Manager for Signature Aviation, you will play an integral role in providing accounting support to FBO locations within a specific area. Your responsibilities include managing risk, controls, compliance, overseeing daily activities, and leading local accounting staff.

Responsibilities

1. Maintain internal controls and compliance across local FBOs.
2. Support audits, including internal, company, and external audits.
3. Assist FBOs in meeting financial reporting requirements.
4. Supervise daily accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
5. Coordinate with Shared Services for information flow and issue resolution.
6. Oversee business-critical accounting activities, such as fuel ticket processing.
7. Support the PTP and OTC processes.
8. Assist the Field Support Center with general accounting, planning, budgeting, and ad-hoc requests.
9. Perform month-end activities, including data submission, narratives, and reconciliation.
10. Review price changes and approve as needed.
11. Review fixed asset purchases when necessary.
12. Maintain awareness of policies and ensure compliance at the local level.
13. Serve as the point of contact for FBO leadership on accounting matters.
14. Support audit scheduling and responses.
15. Lead and mentor local accounting staff, support recruitment and leadership development.

Supervisory and Financial Responsibilities

1. Supervise and evaluate local accounting staff.
2. Recruit new team members as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field; CPA preferred.
• 4+ years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Additional Knowledge and Skills

• Experience in the aviation industry preferred.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., AIS, FMS, Oracle) and MS Excel.
• Analytical skills and ability to interpret complex data.
• Self-motivated team player.

Pay range: $68,300 - $85,500 plus bonus, based on factors like experience, education, and location.
