Summary:

The Children's & Kahauiki Village Program Manager manages day to day operations for both Kahauiki Village (KV) and Children's programs at IHS. This position is responsible for the successful coordination of child education programs and activities to support the outcomes of the Children and the Family programs. This role advocates for provision of services for children to maintain stable academic performance in school, screen for conditions that require early intervention and promote the emotional development and wellbeing of IHS's homeless, housed, or at-risk children served by designated IHS programs.

1. Lead KV staff and team to ensure ongoing partnerships are maintained, that case management and program staff documents to clinical standards and works closely with families to address tenancy issues, problems, lack of resources or with those who are delinquent with rental payments.
2. Develop, maintain and/or evaluate an enriching, educational and culturally sensitive curriculum of activities, after-school activities designed to stimulate and sustain the interest of children as well as contribute to their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development; Coordinate with outside agencies/programs and/or provide support of activities and programs for children that may or may not include parents/caregivers.
3. Ensure children's program staff interact with children using approved child guidance techniques and development tools that will support the goals of the program; model effective social and parenting behaviors that encourage parents and children to develop healthy family relationships.
4. Communicates and works collaboratively with the parents, family program case managers and/or guest services teams to ensure a safe, healthy environment and positive program outcomes for parents and children are met; facilitate formal and/or informal discussions through written reports and/or meetings with the stakeholders.
5. Oversee and maintain consistent, accurate data (attendance, safety, and program records/documentation through SAMi, HMIS, or other systems) as required and provide data to support outcome measures; ensure that the program's standards of clinical record and files are maintained, including using the VI-SPDAT as part of Coordinated Entry.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

1. Knowledge of approved child guidance techniques and development tools that support physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
2. Effective prioritization and problem-solving skills.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, and database applications.
4. Possess personal qualities of integrity and commitment to mission.
5. Flexible and able to multitask; can work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment.

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, or a related field from an accredited university.
2. At least two (2) years of experience working with children of various ages in a multi-cultural and low socio-economic setting.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Regular Full-Time classification. General business hours, Monday through Friday, including some evenings, weekends and holidays. Hours and days may vary based on the needs of the organization.
