Job Description

We are seeking a Quality Control Manager to support our construction management team in a traveling capacity. In this position, you will be responsible for managing all QC activities, including implementation and oversight of the QC program.

The QC Manager is also required to attend all partnering meetings, conduct QC meetings, perform the three phases of control, review and approve submittals, ensure testing is performed, and provide QC certifications and documentation as required by contracts.

To be successful as a QC Manager, you should have the ability to work on multiple discipline projects and demonstrate excellent project management and supervision skills. You should also possess strong organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Thoroughly understand the contract, subcontract, plans, and specifications to assist the Project Manager in developing onsite procedures.
  2. Create and update pre-construction and post-construction documents and plans for the project.
  3. Maintain project logs such as submittal logs, rework logs, testing and inspection logs, training logs, and other quality control reports.
  4. Review shop drawings and submittals for compliance with project specifications.
  5. Assist the contractor in understanding and implementing contract requirements.
  6. Examine quality control methods to ensure proper activity control per contract documents.
  7. Ensure all necessary documents are filed and stored onsite appropriately.
  8. Supervise QC functions and activities, including inspection schedules and quality record collection.
  9. Support the Project Manager in quality-related communications with the client.
  10. Inspect ongoing and completed work for quality.
  11. Implement corrective actions if excessive deficiencies occur in the QC system.
  12. Chair and document weekly QC meetings, providing minutes as per contract requirements.
  13. Provide daily QC reports to confirm conformance and address non-conformances.
  14. Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up QC meetings to establish standards for work features.
  15. Verify and document that received materials meet specifications and are properly stored.
  16. Coordinate and document testing and commissioning of building systems.
  17. Perform QC testing and inspections following contract and best practices.
  18. Maintain up-to-date as-built and redline drawings.
  19. Complete and submit all closeout documents to the client.

Required Experience / Education:

  • BS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or relevant field, or 10 years of combined experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards for Federal, State, City, and County projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, OSHA, and Army Corps EM-385.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Proof of legal right to work in the United States.
  • US Citizenship is required due to security clearance for base access.
  • Successful completion of post-offer drug screening and background check.
  • Valid US Driver's license in good standing, class 3 or higher.
  • Reliable transportation to access work sites.
