Principal Duties:

  • Assist with assigned projects by reviewing contract documents, requirements, and coordinating construction activities in the designated area.
  • Prepare and update project schedules for contractors and/or subcontractors.
  • Maintain a database of active projects.
  • Assist in pre-job conferences and attend all required project meetings.
  • Assist with project correspondence, including schedules, RFIs, proposals, and daily reports.
  • Confirm material and equipment requirements with the Project Engineer or Manager.
  • Coordinate submittals of material specifications with internal contacts as needed.
  • Assist with the availability of equipment and materials, order materials, schedule deliveries, and coordinate maintenance and repairs with the Fleet Maintenance department.
  • Assist with data related to project profitability, billing information, and follow-up to ensure payments. Review cost data and provide forecasting information. Investigate and initiate cost-saving procedures.
  • Assist with final project audits and review procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Assist with customer relations for assigned projects.
  • Help with timesheets, travel arrangements, and clerical work for projects.
  • Promote awareness and adherence to Company and safety policies.
  • Demonstrate mutual respect and good customer service in all interactions.

Working Conditions:

  • Work hours vary from Sunday through Saturday, based on operational needs.
  • Inter-island travel may be required based on operational needs.

Equipment Use:

  • May require driving a company vehicle to job sites.

  • Adapt well to workplace stressors such as competing priorities.
  • Must reason logically, make sound decisions, consider diverse perspectives, communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and interact positively with others to foster confidence and trust.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 30 lbs.

Principal Requirements:

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Basic math skills for daily tasks.
  • Ability to read and understand contract documents.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, Outlook.
  • Sufficient keyboard skills for daily tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and favorable traffic abstract required.

Education/Experience: Currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field, or alternatively, a minimum of 1-2 years of construction industry experience.
