Job Summary

The Assistant Coach is responsible for coaching the program under the supervision and guidance of the Head Coach. The Assistant Coach will perform duties in strict adherence to the rules and policies of the University, the Pacific West Conference, and the NCAA. The position requires the ability to travel with the team and work on weekends and evenings. Additionally, the Assistant Coach must maintain collaborative relationships with administrators, coaches, media, donors, and other stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year collegiate institution
  • 2 years of soccer coaching experience with successful recruiting and competitive track record, or 2 years of collegiate soccer playing experience

Desired Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Commitment to rules/policy compliance and student-athlete success
  • 3+ years of soccer coaching experience
  • Knowledge of NCAA Division II rules

Other Qualifications

  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship or relocation allowance provided
  • Willingness to support department needs, including work during winter break if necessary
  • Background checks and compliance with Protection of Minors policy
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, insured personal vehicle
  • Ability to work all shifts and extended hours
  • Strong time and stress management skills
  • Reliable attendance and ability to foster collegial relationships

Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions

  • Develop and administer a successful sports program (80%)
  • Assist with coaching, recruiting, and player development
  • Organize practices and matches per regulations
  • Attend all games and practices
  • Manage travel arrangements
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA and conference regulations
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach
  • Team management, community initiatives, social media management, budget oversight, and scheduling (15%)
  • Additional duties as needed (5%)
