Description
The Systems Integration and Test Facility (SITF), Systems Integration Laboratory (SIL) Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL), and Software Development Facilities (SDFs) at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) are used to verify the integrated avionics system for the Space Launch System (SLS). The position requires expertise in assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and some limited design skills relevant to supporting distributed computing, simulation laboratories, integration tasks, and development activities. Certification in operations such as Electrostatic Discharge, Cabling Operator, and Crimping Operator is required.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Work Environment: Office and shop settings requiring clear communication and professional interaction. May involve limited travel.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 40 pounds, climb ladders or operate lifts, sit for extended periods, and use stairs or elevators.
Equipment and Machines: Operating personal computers, telephones, fax, copier, calculators, and other office equipment.
Attendance: Standard work hours 7:30-4:30, Monday to Friday, with minimal overtime.
Other Essential Functions: Ability to work independently, exercise good judgment, and maintain appropriate grooming and dress. Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
Requirements
A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related field is required, preferably from an ABET-accredited institution. Experience levels vary: typically, a Ph.D. with 9+ years, Masters with 13+ years, or BS with 15+ years of experience.
