Summary

PATCH is seeking an individual to be responsible for processing and verifying income eligibility for clients who apply for the Preschool Open Doors Program. Accessing the DHS databases and processing payments to the schools for families who qualify.


Duties

Essential Duties:

  • Reviews applications as it is received in the office.
  • Responds to questions from families when they call to ask about progress on their application.Monitors and tracks application progress.Notifies parents of what is missing from their documents to complete the application.
  • Uses the “Child Care Income Eligibility Limits and Sliding Fee Scale to determine that the family's income does not exceed 250% of Federal Poverty Guidelines by family size.
  • Processes application within 30 days of receipt and sends a written notice to families to give them their approval status.
  • Issues POD payments to eligible families.
  • Enters program data into the HANA database and ECF database.
  • Notifies Applicants of the disposition of their applications.
  • Gives timely notice to selected families of non-receipt of required documents, such as, but not limited to, pre and post assessments.
  • Classifies scanned documents into the ECF (Electronic Case File) program.
  • Any other duties as required by the POD Program Manager.

Working Conditions: Usually indoors under regular office conditions. Requires long periods of sitting in an office.

Work Hours: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday; duties may require occasional overtime and weekend hours.

Equipment Use: Computer and standard office equipment.


Requirements

Mental,Physical,and Communication Demands:Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner with excellent verbal communication skills. Require excellent computer and typing ability and the ability to pay close attention to detail. Requires working under minimal supervision. Must be able to pass a criminal background check.


Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Excellent computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Applications.
  • Requires knowledge and experience with customer service and oral communication skills.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education and care issues, particularly relating to preschools is preferred.

Education Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in communicating well and working with people,
  • Experience in phone and e-mail etiquette and customer service.
  • Experience with casework administration.
