Description:

As the Area Accounting Manager for Signature Aviation, you will play an integral role in providing accounting and related support to FBO locations within a specific area. Your responsibilities will include various accounting functions crucial to managing risk, controls, and compliance, such as overseeing daily activities and leading local Accounting Associates.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Proven experience (4+ years) in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Additional knowledge and skills:

  • Preferred experience in the aviation industry.
  • Solid understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., AIS, FMS, Oracle) and MS Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.

Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors; the salary for this position is $68,300-85,500 plus bonus.

Responsibilities

  1. Maintain internal controls and compliance across local FBOs.
  2. Provide audit support, including internal, company, and external audits.
  3. Support FBOs in meeting financial reporting requirements.
  4. Supervise daily accounting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  5. Coordinate with Shared Services to support information flow and resolve issues.
  6. Oversee business-critical accounting activities, such as fuel ticket processing.
  7. Support the relationship with Shared Services and assist in resolving queries.
  8. Support PTP and OTC processes, including processing receipts and working with GMs on price changes.
  9. Assist the Field Support Center with general accounting, planning, budgeting, and ad-hoc requests.
  10. Perform month-end activities, including data submission, narratives, and reconciliation.
  11. Review price changes and obtain necessary approvals.
  12. Review fixed asset purchases as needed.
  13. Maintain awareness of policies set by HQ and ensure FBO leadership compliance.
  14. Serve as the point of contact for FBO leadership on accounting matters.
  15. Support audit scheduling and responses.
  16. Lead and mentor local Accounting Associates, including training and recruiting.

Supervisory and Financial Responsibilities

  • Supervise local accounting staff, conducting appraisals, feedback, and training.
  • Recruit new team members as needed.
