$21.00 - $28.00 / Hourly

AVAILABILITY:
Must be able to work various start & end times
Monday-Friday depending on the program, including weekends and holidays as needed, and travel locally to various sites/branches.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Site Coordinator is responsible for designing, directing, and supporting the development and operations of 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) programs at Kawananakoa Middle School, including afterschool and summer initiatives funded through the 21CCLC grant. This role ensures that programming meets both YMCA standards and HIDOE requirements by delivering high-quality academic support, enrichment opportunities, and family engagement.

The Site Coordinator serves as the on-site supervisor and plays a critical role in fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students, while managing staff, coordinating with school personnel, and building relationships with community partners.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND JOB DUTIES:

  • Manage day-to-day operations of afterschool, summer, and youth/teen development programs in alignment with YMCA policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Supervise, coach, and support program staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality, age-appropriate programming in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
  • Plan and deliver diverse, engaging programs and activities, including academic tutoring, enrichment opportunities, service-learning projects, physical activities, and youth-led initiatives.
  • Create a positive and professional environment that encourages effective communication, teamwork, and a sense of community among staff and participants.
  • Maintain accurate program records, staff documentation, and participant files in compliance with grant requirements and internal procedures.
  • Regularly evaluate program quality and staff performance, providing feedback and implementing improvements as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong understanding of youth development and group facilitation.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to lead a diverse team and engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and general office software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in education, social services, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in youth/teen programs or afterschool environments.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a team or program setting.
  • Experience in non-profit or grant-funded programs preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (can be obtained upon hire).
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and remain active during program hours.

**All 21CCLC positions are dependent on the availability of funds and continuation of the 21CCLC contract. The current contract provides programming for the following three school years (2025-2026, 2026-2027, and 2027-2028) with the possibility of extension for an additional two years (2028-2029 and 2029-2030).
