The Director of Operations supports all operations departments in the guidance, organization, planning, and execution of overall park operations. These departments include Aquatics, First Aid, Housekeeping, and Security. This role ensures the highest safety and guest service standards across water attractions and the general park, fostering a fun and safety-conscious environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the General Manager to execute overall waterpark operations.
  • Guide and support Operations Management and their teams to achieve operational excellence.
  • Provide leadership development and growth opportunities for team members to promote career progression.
  • Lead the park's “Manager on Duty” program.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts for operations departments.
  • Coordinate with Department Managers to support their teams and operational goals.
  • Develop and manage financial budgets for all operations departments.
  • Create labor budgets and staffing schedules aligned with operational needs and guest levels.
  • Monitor labor schedules and adjust staffing as necessary.
  • Manage inventory levels of operational supplies and place orders when needed.
  • Define and communicate responsibilities and authority within the department.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, manufacturers, and contractors.
  • Provide effective leadership and communication to all employees.

Requirements, Qualifications, and Skills:

Preferred:

  • Minimum 2 years of lifeguarding experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of lifeguard supervision experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of water/theme park management experience.
  • Current Lifeguard Instructor License (Ellis & Associates, StarGuard ELITE, Red Cross, or equivalent) or ability to obtain one.
  • Knowledge of current successful aquatic industry trends and programs.
  • Proven ability to create a positive work environment and boost employee morale.

Physical Demands:

  • Regularly use hands for handling and feeling; reach with hands and arms; read, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, push, pull, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally sit, climb, or balance.
  • Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds; frequently lift/move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • May be exposed to weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
