Performs difficult professional engineering work in the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and systems, and/or in the review and analysis of plans and specifications for mechanical engineering features and compliance with code requirements; and performs other related duties as required.

There is one (1) vacancy with the Department of Transportation Services, Transportation Rail Division.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. A foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: Three years of non-registered professional mechanical engineering experience.

LICENSE REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid license as a professional mechanical engineer in the State of Hawaii. Applicants with a current out-of-state professional mechanical engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.
