Position Overview

The Executive Director is a strategic and highly organized leader responsible for managing the overall operations of the Statewide Independent Living Council of Hawaii. This role requires a community-focused individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Community Engagement: Develop strategies to foster community among stakeholders, facilitate events, and build partnerships with government, businesses, and nonprofits.
  2. Data Management: Oversee data collection and analysis related to programs, utilizing technology to generate reports and inform decisions.
  3. Operations Management: Handle daily administrative tasks, manage finances, ensure legal compliance, and oversee technology infrastructure.
  4. Financial Oversight: Manage bookkeeping, payroll, and ensure compliance with state agencies.
  5. Leadership: Supervise staff, promote a positive work environment, and mentor team members.
  6. Strategic Planning: Collaborate on the development and implementation of strategic plans and monitor progress toward goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in public administration, non-profit management, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in a non-profit or community organization.
  • Proven community engagement success and strong data interpretation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with administrative and data management technologies.
  • Knowledge of financial management, including bookkeeping and payroll.
  • Demonstrated leadership and staff management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Passion for the organization's mission.

Compensation

$35,000 - $40,000 annually, part-time (19 hours/week).
