ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Receives work orders and obtains the necessary tools required for the repair.
  2. Transports the vehicle(s) to be repaired by driving or pushing the vehicle into the service bay. Vehicles may include tugs or forklifts.
  3. Inspects parts and/or motor vehicles to identify defective or broken parts.
  4. Repairs diesel engine systems.
  5. Obtains replacement parts as needed. Repairs may include rebuilding assemblies.
  6. Confers with Supervisor for complex repairs or approval for ordering parts.
  7. Completes work orders and provides updates on open work orders.
  8. Additional duties may include changing batteries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience working on airport equipment or in an automotive repair shop.
  • Knowledge of repair of heavy-duty diesel/automotive equipment, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to learn duties within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Must have own tools and operate various power and hand tools safely.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test, 5-year background check, 10-year criminal history check, and security threat assessment.

Compensation

This position offers a pay range of $29.96 to $35.31 plus $0.50 per service area per hour (maximum of $2.00).
