Service Technician – Class B

The Service Technician is responsible for performing automotive repairs and service in accordance with store and factory standards. This individual utilizes their skills to diagnose and resolve automotive problems swiftly and accurately. The Service Technician works with all Service personnel and management to ensure customer satisfaction.

The Service Technician reports to the Service Manager.

Responsibilities

• Perform work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, following Lithia and manufacturer standards.
• Diagnose causes of malfunctions.
• Complete all work according to safety requirements.
• Road-test vehicles to ensure repair quality.
• Accurately record repair times and document work performed.
• Maintain an inventory of necessary tools and return special tools after use.
• Use shop supplies economically and maintain a clean workspace.
• Ensure vehicles are returned clean.
• Complete required training and maintain manufacturer and ASE certifications.
• Participate in technical training and review technical bulletins.
• Communicate effectively with dealership personnel to satisfy customer needs.
• Report safety or integrity issues to management.
• Maintain grooming, hygiene, and uniform standards.
• Adhere to work schedule as designated by management.

Skills And Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Manufacturer certified in all relevant repair areas.
• Minimum of 3 ASE certifications, preferably an ASE Master Technician.
• Proficiency in customer pay repairs, with experience of over 105%.
• 3-5 years of automotive technical experience.

Physical Demands
