Overview

To provide basic financial consulting services to assist members and non-members in identifying their financial goals and objectives. Acts as a catalyst for promoting and growing NFFG products and services. Recommends appropriate insurance and investment products to help clients achieve their financial goals, acting as a registered representative, advisor, or agent of Navy Federal Financial Group (NFFG) and its subsidiaries or other financial firms. Manages moderate dollar volume and member bases.

Responsibilities

  1. Administer and document account activity and execution according to NFFG processes, FINRA, NASAA, SEC regulations.
  2. Conduct periodic account reviews to communicate status, explain activities, and inform clients of new offerings.
  3. Develop a pipeline of internal and external referral sources, complying with Navy Federal policies and guidelines.
  4. Establish and develop relationships with members and external sources in the assigned territory, progressing towards more complex relationships with experience.
  5. Execute purchase and sale orders of securities for current and new clients.
  6. Provide consulting on products supported by the Registered Investment Advisory Firm, aligning with current industry shifts to managed assets and member needs.
  7. Identify prospective partners and opportunities through calling, networking, and leveraging existing business.
  8. Stay current with legislative and industry updates to identify market growth opportunities and potential concerns impacting clients and the business environment.
  9. Monitor accounts for accuracy, discrepancies, and errors, taking remedial actions as needed.
  10. Track and report performance against sales plans and strategies.
  11. Participate in developing and implementing new or improved processes and financial planning.
  12. Assist in on-site audits to ensure compliance with Navy Federal standards and regulatory agencies.
  13. Conduct research to acquire new accounts and increase market share.
  14. Plan and conduct seminars on life insurance and investments; promote cross-marketing of NFFG products.
  15. Prepare reports required by FINRA, NASAA, SEC; participate in audits as needed.
  16. Provide basic investment consultation on products and related regulatory filings.
  17. Assist in servicing investment products such as stocks, bonds, annuities, mutual funds, and managed accounts.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of economic principles, financial markets, banking, and financial data analysis.
  • Basic knowledge of investment and insurance products.
  • Understanding of industry laws and government regulations.
  • Experience in business development, market strategy, and promoting financial products/services.
  • Experience consulting with clients on financial status and investment needs.
  • Experience as a facilitator, trainer, or internal consultant.
  • FINRA Series 7 and NASAA Series 63/65 or 66 required; Life & Health Insurance License preferred or obtainable within 90 days.
  • Appointment by a sponsoring insurance or financial firm.
  • Willingness to pursue further professional designations (e.g., CFP, ChFC, CLU).
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Good judgment and initiative in decision-making.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with PCs, spreadsheets, databases, and financial analysis software.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of Navy Federal's operations and objectives.
  • Progress toward professional designations like CFP, ChFC, or CLU.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (Hybrid)

Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 base + variable pay + annual incentives
