Primary Mission

We seek a passionate, hands-on Hotel Manager to lead our Kona boutique hotel. The ideal candidate thrives in guest-first environments, delivering personalized service, and nurturing a service-oriented team culture.

Scope of Work + Team

  • Reports to Regional GM
  • Supports hotel operations, representing the company with guests, clients, staff, and owners.

Responsibilities

  • Create a warm, memorable guest experience from arrival to departure.
  • Lead by example, maintaining visibility in guest areas.
  • Manage and mentor a small, cross-functional team focused on service excellence.
  • Handle guest concerns empathetically and efficiently, turning issues into loyalty opportunities.
  • Coordinate with front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance to uphold high standards.
  • Develop and implement service standards and operating procedures.
  • Monitor online reviews and feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Oversee inventory, vendor relationships, and ensure brand standards are met.
  • Assist with budgeting, payroll, and reporting to ownership.
  • Support local marketing and community engagement to enhance reputation and occupancy.

Ongoing + Everyday Tasks

  • Meet or exceed budgetary guidelines.
  • Protect and enhance hotel assets through maintenance, security, and capital planning.
  • Ensure timely financial reporting and controls.
  • Forecast and plan staffing and costs weekly.
  • Develop strategies to maximize occupancy and average room rates.
  • Review and approve expenses, maintain credit policies.
  • Foster a positive work environment, ensuring legal compliance.
  • Perform other duties to meet organizational goals.

Guest & Team Member Safety

  • Adhere to safety and sanitation standards.
  • Use PPE as required.
  • Stay updated on safety procedures.

Reaching for the Top + Extraordinary Results

  • Translate business plans into team actions.
  • Lead and motivate leadership teams to meet business objectives.
  • Explore new business opportunities and curate unique guest experiences.
  • Drive profitability and market share growth.
  • Measure success and adjust strategies accordingly.

Partner with RevGen (Revenue, Marketing, Social & Sales)

  • Develop revenue strategies with the RevGen team.
  • Align sales and marketing with business goals.
  • Monitor performance metrics and drive revenue maximization.

Food + Beverage

  • Lead F&B teams in delivering high-quality dining experiences.
  • Manage costs, safety, and operational efficiency.

Hotel Operations

  • Create a memorable guest journey.
  • Lead Rooms Division to achieve budget and service goals.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.

Ideal Leadership Approach

  • Lead with integrity, influence, and clear communication.
  • Build trust, respect, and teamwork.
  • Coach and develop staff, foster a culture of excellence.

Guest Experience + PR Buzz

  • Promote a 4-star service culture.
  • Engage with guests for feedback and recognition.
  • Develop local community and PR initiatives.

Qualifications

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years as Hotel Manager or Director of Rooms.
  • Experience in all hotel management areas, including sales and marketing.
  • Full-service property experience preferred.

IT Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web analytics tools preferred.

Education: College degree or equivalent in hotel management or related field.

Subject Expertise: Knowledge of safety, security, and hospitality standards, with excellent customer service skills.

Other Expectations

  • Adhere to company policies and safety procedures.
  • Travel as needed for training and meetings.
  • Work primarily during business hours, with occasional weekends or holidays.
