Job Title: Project Engineer - Deep Foundations (Aiea, Hawaii)

We are hiring staff and project-level engineers to perform and oversee field inspections for commercial, industrial, and transportation construction projects. This role is based in our Earth Engineers Division in Aiea, Hawaii.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret project plans and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Prepare and submit detailed daily field reports of activities and observations.
  • Monitor work procedures to confirm adherence to project specifications.
  • Engage with client representatives, including supervisors, foremen, project managers, and engineers at job sites.
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Conduct deep foundation inspections, including:
    • Inspect pile driving and drilling operations.
    • Verify materials, sizes, placement, and condition of foundation elements.
    • Record blow counts, elevations, and document damages.
    • Prepare daily reports and pile driving logs.
    • Supervise and assist with the inspection and testing of deep foundation systems and earthwork.
    • Maintain documentation such as reports, logs, test results, and closeout packages.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or related field with geotechnical coursework.
  • At least 2 years of experience with deep foundation work (e.g., piles, drilled shafts, secant piles).
  • Legal right to work in the U.S. (U.S. citizenship or authorization).
  • Ability to work on federal military installation sites.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass background checks and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Certifications/Licenses (at least one required):

  • NICET Soils Technician Level II Certificate.
  • Geologist-In-Training or Engineer-In-Training with three years of related experience.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with relevant experience.

Compensation

Annual salary ranges from $77,000 to $87,000.
