Job Opportunity: Data Management Specialist at CIMAR

The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (CIMAR), part of NOAA/PIFSC Ecosystems Sciences Division in Honolulu, HI, is recruiting a Data Management Specialist for our Data Services Team.

Responsibilities include:

1. Advanced programming and data systems support for coral reef ecosystem research.
2. Managing enterprise database systems and developing tools for data entry and access.
3. Storing and archiving data for accessibility to researchers.
4. Participating in research cruises in the tropical U.S. Pacific to support data collection and outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience with programming languages, scripts, and editors in UNIX/Linux and PC environments.
• 1-3 years of experience in designing, developing, and supporting relational database applications.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Biological, Physical, or Library Sciences.
• Knowledge of relational database management software such as ORACLE or MySQL is highly encouraged.
• Interest or knowledge of coral and fish species from the U.S. Pacific is a plus.

Additional Details:

• Monthly salary range: $4,983 – $5,400.
