For SY25-26:

We are seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our qualified team of educators. The role involves preparing and executing comprehensive educational plans aligned with the school's curriculum. The primary goal is to impart knowledge and foster the development of students' personalities and skills. The ideal candidate should be passionate, capable of connecting with students, and skilled in creating a trusting and engaging learning environment. They should be adept at organizing classes and making learning accessible and meaningful.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Classroom Management
  2. Create a safe, respectful, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
  3. Establish a high-trust learning environment and manage behavioral rules.
  4. Maintain accurate records including attendance, grades, and progress reports.
  5. Planning & Assessment
  6. Develop lesson plans and deliver standards-aligned lessons, units, and projects to meet learning objectives.
  7. Set and communicate clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects.
  8. Encourage exploration of learning opportunities and future career paths.
  9. Create, assign, and grade assessments such as tests, quizzes, essays, and projects.
  10. Monitor and record student progress, providing timely grades and feedback.
  11. Administer assessments to evaluate student performance.
  12. Instructional Practice & Pedagogy
  13. Adapt teaching methods and materials to suit diverse learning styles and interests.
  14. Provide additional support to students as needed.
  15. Develop reading and writing strategies.
  16. Integrate technology into lessons effectively.
  17. Experience with AP English Language and Composition coursework is preferred.
  18. Maintain positive relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and supervisors.
  19. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians.
  20. Express complex ideas clearly and effectively in communication.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in English or a related field.
  • Experience teaching in middle or high school classrooms.
  • Knowledge of pedagogical best practices.
  • Experience with AP English Language and Composition.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized.
  • Proficient with technology, especially in a Mac environment.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must submit to fingerprinting and background checks.
  • Participate actively in meetings, professional development, and training sessions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

4-Year Degree
