This recruitment is being conducted under the Operation Hire Hawaii (OH-HI) project, a targeted outreach initiative featuring an expedited hiring process to fast-track qualified applicants into job opportunities throughout Hawai'i.

Salary: $9,142 to $14,625 per month (EM-05, Minimum to Maximum)

This position involves responsibility as a branch chief, planning, developing, directing, and coordinating economic development activities statewide, including identifying and promoting business development opportunities, expanding existing businesses, attracting new investments, promoting products and services, and conducting supporting research.

Significant latitude is allowed in program planning and priority setting. The position may also participate in legislative proposal preparations and provide recommendations affecting economic development in the state.

To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:

Legal Authorization to Work: The State of Hawaii requires employment eligibility of U.S. citizens, nationals, permanent resident aliens, or those eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

Basic Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, law, economics, finance, foreign trade, or a related field, including at least three semester credit hours in statistics. Knowledge of economics, business statistics, and management is required.

Specialized Experience: At least 5.5 years of responsible professional experience in economic development, marketing, business research, product promotion, or related fields, including familiarity with government programs.

Supervisory and Administrative Aptitude: Demonstrated supervisory and administrative abilities, even if not in formal roles, may suffice.

Driver's License: Some positions require a valid driver's license at appointment.
