The Electrical Engineer actively participates in the project design and production. They integrate information and prepare coordinated documents, understand codes and construction methods.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required
  • Minimum 5 years of well-rounded electrical design working experience with all phases of design and construction
  • Ability to modify existing drawings to minimize the need to create new drawings and create new drawings, when necessary, in a timely fashion
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and strong work ethics
  • Read and interpret construction drawings of different trades
  • Prepare accurate detailed drawings from data supplied by field surveys, record drawings as-built drawings, mark-ups, worksheets, and design sketches
  • Experience with designing of major electrical design projects highly preferred.
  • Principles and practices of technical report writing
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Passed fundamentals of engineering exam preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, and Power Point)
  • Proficient in CAD software, AutoCAD. Minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Able to follow project CAD standards and procedures
  • Strong understanding of codes and regulations, engineering systems, construction methods, and project delivery methods/process.

ESSENTIALJOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Researching and gathering information
  • Work with CAD equipment and software creating, modifying, and finalizing electrical engineering drawings for construction projects and design reports
  • Prepare final drawings, checking dimensions, consistency of information between drawings and for completeness
  • Prepare electrical specifications following client required format
  • Conform to the established filing system for all documents
  • Follow design standards for city, state and federal projects as required
  • Prepare periodic project status reports
  • Reviewing contract requirements to understand deliverables under each phase
  • Revising documents per Client comments and in-house review
  • Preparing submission packages per the contract requirements
  • Provide marketing and technical support
  • Present and speak for the department at meetings
  • Travel to job sites for site investigations and inspections
  • Create project schedule to meet submittal dates
  • Coordinate work activities with those of other departments and regulatory agencies
  • Makes field measurements and obtains design data
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and prepare opinions of probable construction costs
  • Prepare studies and reports as requested
  • Review and follow up on project financial health
  • Perform other duties as assigned

LOCATION: Honolulu, HI

SALARY RANGE: $97,960 – $124,800 per year depending on experience
