Title: Lecturer, CC (Construction Management – Architecture, Engineering and Construction Technology (AEC))

Salary Information: Minimum $1911 per credit hour

Full Time/Part Time: Part Time

Temporary/Permanent: Temporary

Other Conditions: Fall 2025, part-time, for lecturer candidate pool, non-tenure, assignments as needed, contingent on availability of funds, satisfactory performance, and staffing requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach assigned courses in the discipline.
  2. Maintain at least one office hour per week for each class taught.
  3. Provide instruction and guidance to meet student learning objectives, prepare course syllabus, and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  4. Work under supervision of discipline coordinator/division chairperson to integrate teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.
  5. Participate in student and peer evaluations and conduct self-assessment of teaching effectiveness.
  6. Uphold community college principles and philosophy.
  7. Be available for evening and weekend teaching assignments, on-campus, off-campus at military bases, secondary education sites (high schools), and/or online courses. This position is not remote. Teaching on military bases requires Department of Defense security clearance; teaching for Early College courses at DOE schools requires background checks.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Degree must be in the subject area unless a related field is listed. If qualified applicants are unavailable, exceptions may be considered.
  2. Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Technologies, or Construction Management; OR Bachelor's degree in these fields plus three years of related experience; OR Associate's degree plus five years of related experience; OR 15 college credits plus seven years of related experience including training.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Teaching experience at the community college level.
  2. Experience working with community college students.
  3. Relevant work experience related to the course.
  4. Effective communication skills.
  5. Knowledge of competency-based instruction and behavioral objectives.
  6. Experience working with Hawaii's diverse student population.
  7. Proficiency with instructional technology including LMS, CRM, Early Alert, and presentation software.
  8. Willingness to adapt to new technology platforms.
