The primary duties of the Civil Project Engineer include:

  1. Serve in a technical role under the direction of a Project Manager on the design of highways and roads, waterfront, and aviation infrastructure projects.
  2. Design alignments and profiles, geometric layouts, utilities and drainage infrastructure, and develop plans, specifications, and construction estimates.
  3. Take responsibility for performing complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  4. Perform engineering calculations and create technical reports.
  5. Provide engineering services during construction, including responding to requests for information, reviewing material submittals, and performing construction inspections.
  6. Work independently on small to medium size tasks and function as a technical specialist or project manager.
  7. Support the development of new and existing Transportation clients in Hawaii and the Pacific Region.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Hawaii PE license strongly preferred or ability to obtain prior to hire.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Preference given to local candidates.

Additional qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk InfraWorks and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, and preparation of concept alignments and geometrical layout plans.

Benefits & Compensation:

We provide a comprehensive benefits package that promotes employee ownership, health, performance, and success, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, employee assistance, paid time off, parental leave, holidays, a retirement plan with employer match, referral bonuses, and tuition reimbursement. The salary range for Honolulu, Hawaii: $85,000 - $115,000.
