System Engineer 3

Act as a senior technical advisor supporting the U.S. Navy's Maritime Operations Centers (MOC). This deployable position is onboard Navy Aircraft Carriers when in port, supporting the shore-based Fleet Commander Third Fleet (C3F) and other Combatant Commands within the AOR. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, maintenance, training, systems administration, network engineering, end-user support, requirements analysis, planning, systems integration, and serving as a senior technical advisor to the N2/3/6 staff and watch team.

Responsibilities

• Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance for Navy systems, lead coordination with shore and afloat Fleet Systems Engineers.
• Provide networking support for C4I systems.
• Coordinate repairs and provide engineering services for C4I systems.
• Support IT hardware/software upgrades, system architecture, and configuration on MOC systems.
• Offer support for system hardware/software maintenance, system architecture, and web-based C2 applications.
• Recommend improvements for application and system utilization, including COP management and network connectivity.
• Support a fast-paced operational environment, providing recommendations for networking strategies.
• Assist with network testing post-integration and configuration.
• Support Information Assurance activities, including IA policies, system security, and compliance assessments.
• Provide rapid response for emergent issues, network documentation, and security log review.
• Interact with shore and ship-based organizations and end-users.
• Less than 15% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or 8+ years related experience.
• Preferred certifications: IAT2, IA, CE, Cisco CCNA/CCNP.
• Experience with network operations, server virtualization, systems administration (Unix/Windows).
• Knowledge of fleet communications and military C2 architectures.
• Excellent communication skills, ability to train.
• Top Secret clearance required.
