Purpose Statement

The Senior IT Project Manager will manage multiple projects across cross-functional teams to execute company-wide initiatives in business modernization, cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, and application development. Key responsibilities include creating project plans, managing budgets, tasks, risks, schedules, and resource allocation, analyzing and documenting business processes, identifying solutions, and leading the IT Project Management Office (PMO).

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Articulate and understand the technical aspects and context of proposed solutions to project stakeholders.
• Oversee a diverse portfolio of programs, projects, and initiatives for business modernization, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and applications.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including stakeholder identification, project deliverables, goals, milestones, budgets, communication strategies, and risk mitigation plans.
• Define project requirements and oversee lifecycle deployment, coordinating resources, establishing governance structures, and developing communication plans.
• Facilitate scope prioritization discussions, ensuring stakeholders understand changes and their impacts.
• Design and implement change management strategies to foster communication and drive project success.
• Collaborate with IT leadership to align solutions with business needs while ensuring security measures.
• Prepare and manage RFP/RFI for external service agreements.
• Support the establishment of the IT PMO and lead steering committee meetings on project priorities, scope, schedules, and resources.
• Stay updated on new technologies, compliance requirements, and other influences affecting projects.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, IT, Computer Science, or related field.
• At least five years of experience leading technical projects, analyzing business processes, and implementing systems.
• Proven experience managing large-scale IT projects with substantial budgets.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Graduate degree in related fields.
• Experience managing IT projects over $1M.
• Software development experience.
• Experience with cloud solutions (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).
• Knowledge of business processes like sales, accounting, IT service management.
• Contracts and project administration experience.
• Experience in energy/utilities industry and union environments.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and process flow analysis.

Licenses and Certifications

• Required: PMP.
• Preferred: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher, IIBA certification.
