2025 Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) for Honolulu, HI is 8.64%.

This position will remain open until filled with a first cutoff date of 11 May 2025 for employment consideration. Additional lists will be pulled after this first cut-off date at the request of the hiring manager.

Local candidates will be reviewed first as PCS is not authorized. If determined that area of consideration is to be expanded, all candidates will be considered.

Duties

Under general supervision, performs routine and recurring assignments in the planning and delivery of a full range of network services to the organization. Identifies and resolves issues and problems using analytical methods and practices. Performs network system design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance. Manages the organization's network architecture, topology, and protocols. Evaluates established methods and procedures and prepares recommendations for changes where appropriate. Presents verbal and written communications on the application of new and emerging technologies or industry trends. Reports, responds to, and resolves network service requests. Applies information security and information assurance policy, principles, and practices.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required upon appointment
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position
  • Satisfactory completion of employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • One year probationary period may be required
  • Must be able to obtain a Tier 3 background investigation
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and various hours when required
  • Must be willing to work on-call 24/7 on a weekly rotation basis to resolve technical IT emergencies

Qualifications

1. Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree, or 2 full years of higher-level graduate education (24 semester hours) in relevant fields such as computer science, information systems management, mathematics, etc. OR 3 years of specialized experience including network installations, remote configuration, troubleshooting, and communication of complex network issues, with proficiency in competencies like Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Verbal Communication, and Problem Solving.

2. Ability to obtain and maintain Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification within 6 months.

3. Possess or be able to obtain (within 6 months) an Information Assurance baseline security certification of Security+ or higher, in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Level II.

4. Two years of recent work experience with Cisco network switch equipment, configuration, CLI, installation, patching, and management in an enterprise environment.

High qualification criteria include:

  • At least 5 years of IT work experience
  • Experience in a hotel environment
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
