Salary: $4,858 to $5,918 per month (Step D to I).
Note: Hiring rates will be based on availability of funds, the applicant's qualifications, and other relevant factors.
Duties Summary
Conduct foster grandparents program activities in a participating agency; supervise foster grandparents; and perform other related duties as assigned. Work involves supervising foster grandparent volunteers in relation to their services in educational settings where they tutor and mentor students. This includes selecting, orienting, training and assigning foster grandparent volunteers to school settings on the bases of probable compatibility and/or special needs, and the assessment of the program in meeting the basic objectives which are: (1) to provide volunteer opportunities for individuals aged 55 years and older, and (2) to render supportive person-to-person services to students in educational settings.

Knowledge And Abilities Required
Knowledge of: Current social, economic, and community needs of older persons and children including childhood development and education; and organizations and networks serving older adults and children.
Ability to: Understand and apply pertinent Federal and State laws, rules and regulations; demonstrate the ability to learn to supervise foster grandparents; effectively work and communicate with program staff, volunteers, and community members; analyze complex challenges and develop action plans; accordingly and prepare clear and concise reports.
