Other Conditions: For placement in the lecture pool for the Fall 2024, Spring 2025, and Summer 2025 semesters. Positions are part-time, temporary, non-tenure, and contingent upon course offerings, sufficient student enrollment, position clearance, and availability of funds. Day and/or evening classes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate American Studies courses in Museum Studies.
  2. Other related duties, including preparing course syllabus, grading, and maintaining weekly office hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Master's degree in American Studies (or applicable field).
  2. Knowledge in field of Museum Studies or museum work/practices.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. PhD in American Studies (or related field) or doctoral work in American Studies (or related field).
  2. Prior relevant university teaching experience in the field.
  3. Training in and/or experience with online teaching.
  4. Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: decolonization/indigenization in museums, digital technologies, diversity and inclusion initiatives, history of museums, museum ethics, museum organizations (local, national, international), museum theory and practice, NAGPRA, positions within museums/galleries (archivist, curator, collections manager, conservator, digital assets manager, director, educator, exhibit designer, grants manager/writer, registrar, repatriation, preservation specialist).
