Salary Information: Minimum for Academic Year 2025-2026, $1,911 per credit hour, commensurate with education and experience.

Other Conditions:

For lecturer applicant pool, part-time, pending availability of funds and actual staffing requirements. Courses for Early College may be taught during the day, evening, weekend, or online and may also be taught at local high schools as part of the institution's Early College program. In such cases, Hawai'i DOE-mandated background checks will be required.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach assigned courses in Student Development (SD) such as University Experience (SD 100); Summer Bridge (SD 101); Identity, Place & Culture (SD 102), Career & Major Exploration (SD 105).
  2. Maintain a minimum of one office hour per week for each course taught.
  3. Prepare course syllabi and reports related to teaching and student progress.
  4. Work in concert with the Director of Early College Programs to ensure that campus policies and practices are being followed, including Early College orientation for new hires.
  5. As needed, work with multi-media presentation, distance education instruction, and teaching at off-campus sites.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Master's degree in Education, Social Sciences or another relevant discipline.
  2. Demonstrated Teaching effectiveness.
  3. Knowledge of student development theory, especially as it relates to learning, growth, and student success in college.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. College teaching experience.
