The basic objectives of the State's agricultural commodity and marketing programs are to regulate, stabilize, and expand produce markets; facilitate trading; improve the quality of agricultural products; enhance the competitiveness of Hawaii-grown products; and protect against misrepresentation and unfair practices.
The Agricultural Commodities Marketing Specialist I receives formal and on-the-job training as an entry-level inspector, focusing on procedures, laws, rules, and regulations involved in the inspection and certification of Hawaii's agricultural commodities. Performs other related duties as assigned.
To qualify, applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
Experience Substitutions: Relevant work experience of comparable scope, level, and quality may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis.
Special Ability - Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift/carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. with assistance or equipment.
Driver's License: Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
