Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Assists Associate Director for the Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) and COE staff with the review, analysis, and preparation of administrative and fiscal documents, including requisitions, purchase orders, travel requests, and others.
  2. Follows up with research faculty and staff, and Center business office staff to ensure timely completion and approval of administrative, fiscal, and personnel documents.
  3. Prepares, reviews, and audits expenditure documents in accordance with UH/RCUH/UHF procedures.
  4. Communicates with vendors, obtains quotes, makes travel arrangements, prepares requisitions, and ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
  5. Keeps updated on changes in applicable administrative policies and procedures.
  6. Assists faculty with grant applications, manuscripts, and tracking grant funds post-award.
  7. Helps set priorities, identify issues, and recommend solutions to faculty, staff, and administrators.
  8. Supports various research projects for the COE office.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, education, health science, or related field, with 0 years of professional experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  2. Knowledge of principles and practices in health science administration.
  3. Understanding of laws, rules, regulations related to health science administration.
  4. Ability to recognize and resolve problems in health science administration.
  5. Effective written and oral communication skills.
  6. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  7. Proficiency in computer operation and word processing software.

Desirable Qualifications

  1. Familiarity with UH and RCUH policies and procedures.
  2. Experience in Healthcare Community Outreach organizations.
  3. Knowledge of basic accounting, fiscal operations, and budget preparation.
