Other Conditions: Appointment to begin approximately February 2023 or soon thereafter. Continuation dependent on satisfactory performance, program needs, and renewal of funds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support research activities of the Hawaii UCEDD program under the direction of the CDS Director.
  • Conduct literature and resource searches for presentations, reports, fact sheets, and manuscripts.
  • Assist with grant writing for the CDS.
  • Help prepare and edit presentation materials for CDS and Hawaii UCEDD events.
  • Implement project activities such as data entry, newsletter, and article development.
  • Organize and facilitate project meetings and trainings, including drafting agendas and taking minutes.
  • Maintain physical and virtual project documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Description

Minimum Qualifications:
Acceptance or enrollment in a Graduate program in Disability Studies, Education, Educational Technology, Social Sciences, or a related field at UH Manoa. If enrolled — GPA of 3.0 or above and progress toward degree.
Knowledge of Disability issues.
Basic understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google tools, and Zoom.
Ability to work independently and responsively.
Experience with literature reviews.
Strong editing skills for grant proposals, articles, and newsletters.
Effective communication with project team and community contacts.

Desirable Qualifications:
Research experience on grant-funded projects.
Experience with grant writing and federal reports.
Familiarity with UCEDDs.
Skills in organizing and facilitating meetings.
Excellent writing and editing.
Knowledge of statistical methods.
Familiarity with data visualization and infographics.
Record of publications.
