Position Description:

The Project Accountant will support the project management staff, primarily assisting the Project Manager and Project Engineer. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate financial reporting, revenue recognition, project billing, developing and maintaining cost controls, and assisting with monthly margin analysis and cash flow forecasts.

Position Qualifications:

  • Business or Accounting degree
  • Knowledge of construction accounting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Well organized and detail-oriented
  • Self-starter and team player
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Willing to work 40 hours/week plus overtime as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Excel skills
  • VBA experience
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Experience with project start-up, close-out, audits, and lifecycle management
  • Ability to review expenses, reconcile cost data, and ensure accurate billing
  • Assist with monthly margin analysis and reporting

Physical Work Classification & Demands:

  • Light Work, exerting up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Periodic walking, kneeling, sitting, reaching, and other movements
  • Frequent computer and office machinery use
  • Regular communication with stakeholders
  • Visual and cognitive tasks, including reading and analyzing data
  • Stationary position in front of a computer
  • Occasional driving, exposure to temperatures, noise, and outdoor elements
