RESPONSIBILITIES
I. JOB SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Under the supervision of the Medical Director, Lead Anesthesia Technician and Certified Anesthesia Monitoring Technicians, provides hemodynamic and physiological monitoring assistance during induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia.
- Performs first line maintenance on anesthesia equipment.
II. TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Seeing, hearing, speaking, finger dexterity, standing, sitting, walking, stooping/bending, twisting body, lifting usual weight of 20 pounds up to 45 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 5 pounds of force with assistance, carrying usual weight up to 50 pounds, reaching above, at and below shoulder level, repetitive arm/hand motions.
- Frequent: static gripping of an object for prolonged periods.
- Occasional: kneeling, crawling, squatting, climbing stairs.
III. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Not substantially subjected to adverse environmental conditions.
- Exposure to body fluids, blood products and communicable diseases.
IV. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree in biology or related field preferred.
- Current BLS certification.
B. EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of procedures relating to sterile and aseptic techniques and infection control.
- One (1) year experience as an Anesthesia Monitoring Technician or Anesthesia Supply Technician preferred.
