ABOUT THE ROLE
Ward Village, a Howard Hughes master-planned community, is a 60-acre master-planned community in the heart of Honolulu, located between downtown and Waikīkī, along O‘ahu's south shore. Honoring the distinct history of its land, Ward Village is at the forefront of sustainable community development - integrating dynamic architecture, local culture, and public open space. At full build-out, the community will include approximately one million square feet of unique retail and thousands of homes, in what Architectural Digest named “Best-Planned Community in the United States.”
The real estate development internship at Howard Hughes in Ward Village is a 9-week (June 2nd- August 1st) immersive experience designed to introduce the Summer Associate to all aspects of a development project including: financial analysis and modeling, due diligence, zoning, legal oversight, budgeting, design, construction, acquisition, project management and leasing.
What You Will Do
Conduct financial analysis and due diligence for existing and future development opportunities.
Create and update underwriting models in excel for retail, residential, and mixed-use projects.
Perform ad-hoc financial modeling to analyze impact of various scenarios on project yields.
Provide project management support throughout the various aspects of development: financing, entitlement / government approvals, public relations, design, leasing / marketing, and construction.
Connect with the Summer Associate Program cohort at The Woodlands Corporate Headquarters.
Conduct a summer research project applicable to real estate development analyzing market trends, feasibility, and project needs. Present findings to leadership, highlighting relevance, demand, and potential impact.
