The newly established Honolulu Ocean Safety Department is hiring an Administrative Services Officer II (ASO II) to assist the Director of Ocean Safety in assessing departmental operational needs, setting goals and objectives, creating new positions and organizational policies and procedures, determining and managing budgets and fiscal responsibilities, and other work in building a new department.

Most work experience in a supervisory or managerial position includes some responsibility for personnel, budget and fiscal, or management analysis functions. However, if the primary responsibility of the position is not concerned with professional personnel management, budget analysis, or organization and management analysis work, such experience is not considered qualifying. Additionally, having the required number of years of experience will not in itself be accepted as qualifying for the position. Your overall experience must have been of such scope, level and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate the ability to perform the duties of the position.
