Capital Projects Manager

Description:

The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing our Honolulu project while serving as the worksite representative for dealings with subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and government inspectors. The Construction Manager will ensure compliance with all local procedures, regulations, and codes, and will provide progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and creating construction work timetables
  • Interpreting and explaining contracts and technical information to other professionals
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists
  • Selecting subcontractors and scheduling and coordinating their activities.
  • Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor and ensure strict compliance with building and safety regulations
  • Track project expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Manage subcontractors and staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration
  • Reports weekly status covering all processing and maintenance related activities to Director of Operations
  • Reviews weekly and monthly reports on the status and progress of the contracts, including project costs and potential changes.
  • Reports the status of projects to business and market leaders.
  • Attend client program meetings as needed.

STATUS AND SCOPE:

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies and the public.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations and know how to appropriately use discretion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental, process work rapidly, set priorities, work under pressure and follow through with assigned tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 10+ years construction management experience.

· Experience in large water and wastewater treatment plant construction is required.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong conflict resolution skills

· Comfort with technology and familiarity with construction management software programs

· Must have computer skills and experience with Word, Excel.

· Strong organizational, time management and attention to detail required.

· Leadership skills, including task delegation and staff management

· Knowledge of basic accounting procedures, including making financial projections and creating

project budgets

· Knowledge of OSHA and state/federal safety rules and regulations preferred.

· Decision-making, analytical and negotiation skills
