Summary

The Staff Accountant will work with the Benefits Accounting Department and will support and be responsible for the month end reporting and closing, following Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). They will participate in special projects and work with their Manager to ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures. They will also work with the internal auditing process as it relates to their specific areas of responsibility.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. On a monthly basis, prepare journal entries and month end reconciliations for benefits related transactions to include medical, bonus, and 401k.
  2. Prepare benefits related payment requests.
  3. Compile information for internal and PwC audits.
  4. Complex calculations, data analysis, system updates, and research to assist with inquiries and discrepancies.
  5. Communicate with departments and external agencies with respect to benefits accounting related concerns.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Performs other duties as assigned.
  2. Supports special projects as required.

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.

EXPERIENCE

Two (2) years or more experience in an Accounting related field within a large corporation.

KNOWLEDGE

  • General knowledge of U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley Controls; intermediate level.
  • Microsoft Office; advanced level.
  • Excel; advanced level.
  • Workday HCM/FIN knowledge preferred.

Compensation Information :

The compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's relevant experience; education, including relevant degrees or certifications; work location; market data/ranges; internal equity; internal salary ranges; etc. The position may also be eligible to receive an annual bonus, commission, and/or long-term incentive plan based on the level and/or type. Compensation ranges for the position are below:

Pay Type :

Salaried

Minimum Pay Range:

$60,000.00

Maximum Pay Range:

$70,000.00
